Frequently Asked Questions

Everything families ask most often.

What is Career Atlas?

Career Atlas is a free educational tool that helps kids discover careers by doing them. You play short, realistic job challenges, see the skills you used, and build a map of careers that fit how you think, work, and explore.

Who is it for?

It is designed for curious kids from about grade 5 and up, used together with a parent, guardian, or teacher.

Is it free?

Yes. Career Atlas is completely free to use. There are no accounts and no ads.

Do you collect my child's data?

No. There is no login and we do not collect personal information. Progress is stored only in your browser on your device, and we use cookieless, aggregate analytics that cannot identify anyone. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How is my progress saved?

Your saved careers, quiz answers, and progress are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. They stay on the device you used and are not sent to us.

How do I reset or clear my data?

Clear your browser's site data for Career Atlas, or use your browser settings to clear storage for the site. This removes all saved progress.

Which browsers are supported?

Career Atlas works on current versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox on phones, tablets, and computers.

Are the careers and salaries real?

Yes. Career facts, salary ranges, and training paths come from public sources such as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, CareerOneStop, and O*NET / My Next Move, simplified for a young audience.
